Who we are:

On May 17, 1844 the Presbyterian Church of Spring Hill was chartered as a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America; 26 members made up the original church family. The original church building was constructed in 1844; the present sanctuary replaced it in 1888. While we are proud of our history and our church building it is the family of members that make our church a body of Christ. We strive to include all people in our family and offer them a place where they may serve Christ and realize their value to the work of God’s kingdom in the world.

We think of our Worship here as “relaxed traditional”. Our traditions open doors to new expressions of God’s grace without the anxiety of striving after novelty in Worship. People laugh people can be moved to tears of sorrow and joy, and people even applaud the efforts of children and adults to enhance our Worship experience.

The family of First Presbyterian Church has deep roots in the traditions of the Presbyterian Church and the community of Spring Hill, and seeking new ways to build on those traditions is a part of who we are. We hope you will join us so that we can be enriched by your gifts and ideas.
